How Indian Businesses Choose B2B Service Providers in 2024

Outsourcing, IT services, HR and logistics โ€” we analysed buying behaviour from 8,000 business reviews to reveal what actually drives vendor decisions.

B2B service decisions carry more risk than consumer purchases โ€” contracts are longer, switching costs are high, and the consequences of a bad vendor ripple across entire teams. We analysed 8,000 business service reviews on WhoIsAtTop to understand what Indian companies actually value when choosing service partners.

Trust signals that close B2B deals

Reviews from verified business accounts โ€” not anonymous users โ€” carry four times the weight in B2B purchasing decisions, according to our survey of 2,400 procurement managers. Case studies with named clients, measurable outcomes, and industry-specific context are cited as the single most persuasive content type.

67% of Indian procurement managers say they read at least 10 reviews before shortlisting a B2B vendor โ€” and 44% say a single unanswered negative review is enough to eliminate a provider from consideration.

The red flags businesses miss

Our review analysis shows that the most commonly cited post-contract disappointments are: promised senior staff replaced by juniors after onboarding, SLA response times that were accurate during the sales cycle but degraded after signing, and scope creep with vague change-order pricing. Check reviews specifically for mentions of "after signing" or "post-onboarding" to catch these patterns.

IT services vs. logistics vs. HR

IT service reviews weigh technical competence and communication equally. Logistics reviews are almost entirely about reliability and damage rates โ€” price barely appears in positive reviews. HR and recruiting firm reviews focus overwhelmingly on candidate quality and speed-to-fill. Knowing which dimension matters most for your category will help you filter reviews more efficiently.
